Prof. Alice Cheng

She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a Council member of the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM).

She is an Endocrinologist at Trillium Health Partners (Credit Valley) in Mississauga and St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and is Chair of the 2013 Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines. Alice Cheng from Credit Valley Hospital spoke at the conference and described the complications that can occur over time with high blood glucose levels, such as blindness, heart disease, kidney problems, nerve damage and erectile dysfunction. Fortunately, proper diet, regular exercise, monitoring blood glucose levels and adherence to the right medication regime can minimize the complications of diabetes.

He is a Cardiologist with over 34 years experience in Private Practice He entered private cardiology practice at Morningside Medi-Clinic in Johannesburg then moved to Sunninghill Hospital since 1997 He is past President of the South African Sleep Society of Medicine (SASSM) He has served as consultant to many Pharmaceutical Advisory boards and Device Companies Although not a member of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, The Rotary International’s coveted Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) was awarded in 2007 & 2018.
