Prof B Rapoport

Prof Bernardo Rapoport is the head of the Medical Oncology Center and Clinical Trial Unit of Rosebank Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the chairman of SASMO, member of the board of directors of the (Multinational Association for Supportive Care) MASCC, Chairman of the MASCC Infection and Myelosuppression Study Group and Member of the MASCC Antiemetic Study Group. He is an active member of ASCO, ESM and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. He was a former Principal Investigator of EORTC and a former Senior Investigator for ECOG. Prof Rapoport has presented at various local South African and International scientific meetings, including ASCO, MASCC and ESMO. Prof Rapoport has won numerous awards and is very well published.

Prof M Aapro

Prof. Matti Aapro is a medical oncologist, Director at the Cancer Center Genolier, Switzerland and President of the European Cancer Organization, President of SPCC, member of the Board of ESO and SIOG. After receiving his medical degree and completing his internship, he became the founding Chair of the Medical and Radiation Therapy Department at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy. Dr Aapro’s major interests are new drug development, breast cancer, cancer in the elderly and supportive care. A former Board member of EORTC and past-President of MASCC, Dr Aapro was also a member of the board of ESMO and continues to serve ESMO in various functions. He chaired the scientific and organizing committees of the UICC’s WCC in 2008. He is an Editor of Journal of Cancer Policy, Honorary Editor of Critical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology, Associate Editor for the geriatric section of The Oncologist and an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Geriatric Oncology and Annals of Oncology. Dr Aapro is an honorary member of AFSOS, JASCC and RUSSCO, doctor honoris causa of Tampere University, he is very well published and has recipient of numerous awards.
